East Jakarta Mayor Leads Simultaneous Harvesting in Cakung

East Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar led the virtual simultaneous harvesting activity at Small Industrial Village (PIK) area, RW 07, Penggilingan, Cakung, on Monday (11/30). It was also attended by East Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Sub-agency Head, Yuli Absari; Cakung Sub-district Head, Ahmad Salahudin; and other related officials.

This simultaneous harvesting activity was initiated by Jakarta KPKP Agency together with Communication Informatics and Statistics (Kominfotik) Agency, General Bureau, Economic Bureau of Jakarta Secretariat, and supported by PT. BISI International, PT. Indonesia Power, PT. Indofood Sukses Makmur, and Bank DKI.

"Apart from being a means of education in farming, hopefully we can continue to promote urban greening and urban farming programs," he mentioned, Monday (11/30).

63 Tons Collected From Today's Simultaneous Harvesting Activity

He expected similar activity can make residents more productive, creative, and innovative thus it can increase economic growth.

"Thus East Jakarta will be greener, beautiful, and healthier, people can be also more independent in creating urban farming in their respective areas," he added.

Meanwhile, East Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency Head, Yuli Absari said, this simultaneous harvesting was carried out in 56 locations in 10 sub-districts and involved 600 participants from various elements of society, such as farmer groups, PKK cadres, karang taruna (youth), students, civil servants (ASN), and stakeholders.

"We managed to harvest 900 kilograms vegetables such as water spinach, spinach, bok choy, cucumber, eggplant, and other vegetables," she mentioned.

Furthermore, her side also harvested 290 kilograms fish, such as pangasius, catfish, and tilapia. As well as 25 liters goat milk, 200 discus ornamental fish, 5 kilograms mushrooms and 200 kilograms aloe.

"We expect this simultaneous harvesting activity can motivate residents and support food security in Jakarta through urban farming activity," she asserted.
